Slipped Upper Femoral Epiphysis (SUFE) Expert Witnesses

Slipped Upper Femoral Epiphysis (SUFE) is a hip condition affecting children and adolescents in which the femoral head slips relative to the neck of the thigh bone through the growth plate. Symptoms may include hip, groin, thigh or knee pain, limping and reduced mobility. Early diagnosis and surgical stabilisation are important to prevent further displacement and complications such as avascular necrosis and chondrolysis. Independent SUFE Expert Witnesses can provide specialist opinions on delayed diagnosis, clinical assessment, imaging, surgical management, complications, causation, long-term prognosis and standards of care in Clinical Negligence cases.
