Shoulder Dystocia Expert Witnesses

Shoulder Dystocia is an obstetric emergency in which a baby's shoulders become lodged after the head has been delivered, preventing normal birth. Prompt recognition and appropriate manoeuvres are essential to reduce the risk of injury to the baby and mother. Complications can include brachial plexus injury, fractures and oxygen deprivation. Independent expert witnesses can assess risk factors, delivery management, clinical standards, causation and outcomes in Clinical Negligence proceedings.
