Amniocentesis Expert Witnesses in South East

Amniocentesis is a prenatal diagnostic procedure used to investigate genetic, chromosomal and certain other conditions affecting an unborn baby. It involves collecting a small sample of amniotic fluid using a needle inserted through the abdomen under ultrasound guidance, usually from 15 weeks of pregnancy. Testing may be recommended following higher-chance screening results, abnormal ultrasound findings or a family history of inherited disorders. Potential complications include miscarriage, infection and leakage of amniotic fluid. Independent Amniocentesis Expert Witnesses can provide specialist clinical opinions on patient selection, informed consent, procedural technique, genetic testing, interpretation of results, complications and standards of care in Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury cases.
